Birth Package - $900-$1200
My doula fees are sliding scale so that families can select a price point that fits their financial situation. Families who are able to pay at the higher side of my scale allow me to work with more low-income families, making the positive impact of birth support available to all. Thank you for choosing a price that works for you and your family.
I will do a complimentary consultation either in your home or other location where we can discuss your needs and what you are looking for in a doula. We will take this time to get to know one another and I will answer any questions that you may have. After the initial consultation, I encourage parents to think about what they are looking for in a doula and determine if I am the best fit. After we decide that we’re a good match, we will move forward with my services.
Once you chose to hire me, we will discuss and sign my Doula Contract. At that time, I ask for half of the doula fee so that I can block off time on my calendar and will no longer be available to other clients.
The remainder of the fee is due at the time of our last prenatal visit.
During your last trimester I will make two or three home visits to help you develop your Birth Vision (also called a Birth Plan) to answer questions regarding your pregnancy and labor, and to cultivate a trusting relationship with you, your partner(s) and/or anyone else who will be a part of your labor and birth team. In these meetings we will generally discuss your pregnancy and I will provide hands-on training of comfort measures to use during labor as well as techniques that you can begin to practice and use in anticipation of labor and birth.
Two weeks prior to your due date I will go “on call.” That means that during this time, I am available to you by phone, email, or text at all times.
Once labor begins I will be able to assist you either by telephone in early stages of labor in your home, birthing center, or hospital. Once I arrive I will remain with you through the duration of your labor and for up to two hours after your birth. Throughout this time I will provide you continuous support so that your emotional and physical needs are met, and will help facilitate communication between you and the medical team.
Back Up Doula
It is my intention and goal to be with you during your entire birthing process, but there are sometimes extenuating circumstances that make this impossible. In this rare circumstance, my back up doula will accompany and support you through your birth.
If possible, my back up doula will join me at one prenatal appointment so that you will be acquainted with her.
I will make two final home visits during the first two weeks following your birth. The purpose of these final visits is to talk about your birth experience and to answer questions about nursing (if this is what you chose) and caring for your new baby. During this time I also like to assure that your Postpartum Plan is intact, and to provide resources for PMAD and other postpartum concerns around parenting, new baby care and sleep.
I also like to receive any feedback you might have about my role in your birth process.
After the two in-home visits I will check in with you via phone at the end of the Fourth Trimester and again at six months.
